A
Accommodation Benefit is a weekly payment that's paid with your Student Allowance to help with accommodation costs.
Accommodation Supplement is a weekly payment that's not taxed, that helps people with their rent, board or the cost of owning a home.
An Advance Payment of Benefit is a one-off payment to help you pay an essential or emergency cost if you can't pay it another way.

Child Disability Allowance is paid in recognition of the extra care and attention needed for a child or young person with a serious disability.
Childcare Subsidy is a payment that helps with the cost of pre-school childcare.
The COVID-19 Income Relief Payment has now stopped. The final day of the Income Relief Payment was 4 February 2021.

Disability Allowance is a weekly payment for people who have regular, ongoing costs because of a disability. These could be visits to the doctor or hospital, medicines, extra clothing or travel.

If you apply for Jobseeker Support Student Hardship and don't qualify, we may look at giving you an Emergency Benefit instead.

Jobseeker Support Student Hardship is a weekly payment to help with your living expenses during a study break of more than 3 weeks.

If you're awarded a NZ Scholarship from NZQA, we'll confirm you meet the payment criteria and then pay it to you.

Out of School Care and Recreation (OSCAR) Subsidy is a payment which helps families with the costs of before-school and after-school programmes for up to 20 hours a week, and school holiday programmes for up to 50 hours a week.

A Recoverable Assistance Payment can help you pay for something you need urgently, when you have no other way of paying for it. For example, appliances, school uniforms or rent arrears.

A Special Needs Grant is a one-off payment that helps you out with urgent costs, e.g. emergency dental or medical treatment, food or bedding.
A Student Allowance is a weekly payment that can help with your living expenses while you’re studying.
If you have a partner or child and need help to pay living expenses during a stand-down while transferring from a Student Allowance to a benefit, we may be able to help.
A Student Loan helps to pay for your course fees, study materials (eg, books, computer, travel) and living costs.

TeachNZ provides scholarships that focus on areas where teachers are needed. If you're awarded one of these scholarships, we'll pay it to you.
Temporary Additional Support is a weekly payment that's not taxed that helps you when you don't have enough money to cover your essential living costs.
We may be able to pay for things you need to find or start a job, such as clothes, travel, living expenses until your first pay and other things.

The Winter Energy Payment is an extra payment over the winter months for students getting Jobseeker Support Student Hardship.
