Extending your study

If you want to extend your study, you may be able to extend your Student Loan or Student Allowance.

Who can get it

We may be able to extend your Student Loan and Student Allowance application if:

your application was approved for less than 52 weeks
extending your study would not make it be approved for longer than 52 weeks
the extension is not a private arrangement between you and your tutor.

You need to make sure you're fully enrolled with your education provider.

Example:

You were granted a loan for a course from 1 February to 30 June but you're extending your study to 30 November.
