Finished studying
If you've completed your studies, you need to think about what you're going to do next.
If you're looking for a job, Work and Income can help you:
- look for work
- write a CV and cover letters
- prepare for a job interview
- buy equipment you'll need for a new job.
You need to start making payments to your Student Loan once you earn over $24,128 a year before tax (or $464 a week before tax). You can find information about paying back your student loan on the Inland Revenue website.
You can also find the correct tax code. You'll need to give this to your employer so they can deduct your repayments from your earnings.
If you have a Student Loan with Inland Revenue or any other debt with us, you'll need to pay this back.
If you're planning to go overseas, you need to contact Inland Revenue before you leave New Zealand.
If you're going to return to study, there are a few things you'll need to consider.
