Set your PIN for your payment card
29 July 2024.
From 29 July you can set a personalised PIN on your payment card, to keep the money on your card safe and secure.
A payment card is a reusable green card, like an EFTPOS card. They're an easy way to pay for one-off items and services, like food, dental treatment or glasses.
What's changing
Right now, when you use your payment card, you use the last 4-digits on the card as the PIN. From 29 July you can set your own PIN, making your card more secure.
If you have a payment card, it's a good idea to set your PIN now so your card is ready to use if you need it.
From 23 September you must have a personalised PIN set to use your payment card. You won't be able to use the last 4-digits on your card, and if you don't have a personalised PIN set the card won't work.
